Booking a Walk and Adding Walks to the Programme.

Please book you walk with the walks cordinator (Note Tuesday gentle pace walks should be booked with Mary first.)

You can see which dates are already booked on our calendar

Leaders are welcome to book a walk date in advance and send us the details nearer the time.

What details do we need?

Start time – this is normally 10am but the leader can choose other start times.

Start Point – The car park name is usually sufficient although adding the OS grid reference can be useful. If parking on private land, the leader must have the land owner's permission. We aim to advertise where car parking charges apply, we often know where charges apply e.g all Forestry England car parks, some Local Authority and National Trust can parks. Any updates on parking charges are useful

Walk length – miles or km

Walk details – Leaders are welcome to give more information on the walk route although some simply say it's a forest circular walk. Please include any information walkers will need – for example ground conditions requiring boots or wellies, hilly walks.

Contact details- We normally advertise how the leader can be contacted. - usually a mob number (which is particularly useful for walkers who have got lost on the way to a walk), but alternatives such as landline or email can be used, What contact details are advertised is the leaders choice, please discuss any concerns with the walks coordinator.

Finish time – the estimated finish time is useful and the systems we use for advertisng walks require a finish time. Unless the leader tells us otherwise, we'll assume 5 mile walks take 2 ½ hours and 10-12 mile walks take 5 ½ hours

Where are walks published?

Here on our group website - both booked walks and full walk details when available. On the Ramblers National website - full walk details when available.
