If parking on private land, you must have the landowner's permission\n- **Parking charges** — we try to say where charges apply (all Forestry England car parks, some local authority and National Trust ones). Updates are useful\n- **Finish time** — the systems we use need one. Unless you tell us otherwise we assume 5-mile walks take 2½ hours and 10–12-mile walks take 5½ hours\n\n#### The walk itself\n\n- **Length** — miles or km\n- **Route notes** — as much or as little as you like. A forest circular walk is fine. Include anything walkers need, such as boots, wellies or hills\n- **Contact** — usually a mobile number, which helps people who get lost on the way. A landline or email is fine.
